“Configurable arm for stabilizing biopsy needle trajectory”

The aim of the project is to create a complex system enabling a doctor to perform more precise tissue sampling for cancer diagnostics. The system will be dedicated, depending on the configuration, to biopsy cancerous lesions in the prostate and tissues from the abdominal or thoracic cavity (e.g. liver, lungs).

The BONITO system created in the project will allow to limit the role of the doctor only to insert the needle to the desired depth along the trajectory determined by the device, which will contribute to reducing the time of surgery with increased precision and reduced number of puncture points in the skin of the patient, which translates into shorter recovery time.

“L2R intelligent lightweight robotic arm”

The aim of the project was to develop an anthropomorphic and very lightweight L2R robotic arm characterized by low weight, high functional flexibility and high safety. The arm consists of actuators with a very high torque-to-weight ratio, and the arm structure is built using carbon fibre or other composite technology.
