“Development of a modular robotic system in targeted research”
As part of Measure 1.2, targeted research was conducted and a prototype of a modular robotic system consisting of the following modules was constructed:
a) mobile platform,
b) remote-controlled manipulator,
c) sensorimotor head,
d) force-coupled motion transmitter,
e) control console with teleconferencing system.
It is possible to combine the modules in different combinations, differing in the final application, such as: 1.ModUS telemedicine system (modules a+b+c+d+e) – in the version: mobile teleconference or remotely controlled but stationary ultrasound examination (remote presence of a specialist doctor) 2. Mobile platform – as a robot for hospital logistics (module a) 3. Laboratory robotic arm (module b) 4. Motion tasker with force feedback (modules d+e). The system was created to achieve maximum usability for the doctor and the tested patient. The design goes beyond standard remote presence concepts. The system integrates multifactorial sensory data such as visualization, sensation, speech, patient emotions and physiological reactions so that the robot is a proactive aid for the diagnostician. The recipients of the whole system as well as its components are medical institutions in the broad sense, i.e.: hospitals, private clinics, outpatient clinics, research laboratories, etc.
